Morphology and growthcontinuous culture, grown as monolayer, morphology neuroepithelial-Schwann like
Culture conditionsRPMI 1640 + 10% FBS + 2mM L-Glutamine + 1% non-essential amino acids; Split confluent cultures 1:3-1:5 using trypsin/EDTA; seed at 2-4x104 cells/cm2. The cells are large and grow very slowly, tend to detach as monolayers after trypsinization and are difficult to disaggregate. 37C, 5% CO2.
PropertiesN-myc not amplified and 1p not deleted. Used for studies on differentiation; adhesion; neurobiology; growth factors.
DistributionCell line available for distribution. For non-commercial investigative use only
Hazard
Species validationValidated by isoenzymes: confirmed as human with G6PD, PepB
Karyologytrisomy, 2p deletion
